Dear Neighbours,

I hope this finds you well and enjoying the early spring.

You belong in Southwood! March was our membership month, but this is still a great time to get a community association membership. They’re only $15 and valid until February 28, 2019. Whether you’re a long-time resident or just became a renter or homeowner, joining your CA is a great way to contribute to your neighbourhood.

I’ve recently been reminded of the importance of sharing feedback with City departments, whether you have a complaint, concern or words of praise. 311 is available 24 hours a day and is a resource to connect you to City services. You can also use the police non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 to report damaged property, a noise complaint or other non-urgent criminal matters. Statistics collected from calls helps inform decision making for the police, City departments and our counsellor, so don’t hesitate to call.

Our annual RhubarbFest is fast approaching on Saturday, June 2. Save the date for this fun family event and please get in touch with Programs Director Susan Roszell at programs@southwoodconnects.ca if you’re keen to help with planning or to volunteer on the day.

Our next Board Meeting is Thursday, April 26 from 7:00-9:00 pm, upstairs Chateau Room at the community hall, 11 Sackville Drive SW. Residents are always welcome to attend.

Take care,

Ellen
