Welcome back from Spring Break, refreshed and ready for a fulfilling final quarter of our school year. From our new website to class and school blogs on qee.blogability.ca there are plenty of ways for you to stay on top of what is happening at Queen Elizabeth.
The Lion Roars in Spring
Students in grades three through six are creating our spring Lion King concert for staging in April. Designed by Disney for school production, the performance will include singing and dancing by all four grades. There will be three performances to accommodate our ever-growing school community on April 18th and 19th. Tickets are free but required to attend so that every family has a chance to see their artists in action.
Spring Fling – Hakuna Matata
The School Council will host its spring dance and fundraiser on April 27th. The dance is a school-year highlight for many students. This is not a CBE event, so you are required to attend the dance with your child(ren). The good news is you do not need volunteer clearance to help at this event, so if you have not had the chance to volunteer this year, what are you waiting for?
Check out qee.blogability.ca for information on the event. There is a page for you to submit donations to the silent auction, either your own donation or a donation you have solicited from local businesses is welcome.
While looking at the blog, please take the time to look at volunteering for swimming lessons. Don’t worry, you do not have to don swimwear and get in the pool! Many hands are needed for this program to be successful and there is always a need for male volunteers to help the boys change before and after lessons. The lessons start the last week of April.
Looking ahead, May 7th to 11th is teacher appreciation week. Again, check out qee.blogabilty.ca in April for information on some of the innovative ways our community can show its appreciation for our teachers. We aren’t talking about apples on desks anymore.
