Message from the Beddington Heights Community Association Board

After the Winter Carnival, we’ve had a few months to catch up on paperwork and plan for our often-busy summer. Early in March, the Board spent some time putting together our plan for the remainder of 2018 and it’s going to be another amazing year.

Along with our usual events (Garage Sale Parade, Neighbour Day Barbecue, Pop Up Barbecues, end of Summer Barbecue and AGM), we are working to host some new events this year (Reimagine Beddington events, Movie/Theatre in the Park, Volunteer Appreciation event, and a Fall Fair and Tradeshow) and are going to even start planning for 2019 events (we are looking at adult programming and would love to do a multi-cultural event).

Our major priorities for the rest of the year include Reimagine Beddington (a multi-year project to reimagine Beddington’s open spaces, green spaces, parks and playgrounds), our Membership Strategy (to finalize an online portal as well as membership benefits program) and a scholarship program (we are investigating the possibility of a scholarship program for Beddington residents and BASP staff).

As you can see, we always have lots going on and our board members and volunteers make all of it possible. If you are interested in helping out in any way or have new ideas you would like to see happen in our community (like our resident-led Book Club), please reach out to us via email (bhca@beddingtoncommunity.ca) or drop by one of our board meetings (the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7-9 p.m. upstairs in the Beddington Theatre Arts Centre boardroom).

Happy Spring!
