Did you know that March was Community Association Awareness Month? If you connect with us on social media, you will have seen posts about the value of community and the incredible opportunities that your Community Association provides right in your own back yard. We heard from many of you last month, appreciative of what our volunteers do to make Winston Heights-Mountview a great place to live, work, raise a family and grow older in. We also heard from community residents wondering how they can put their own ideas into action.

Do you have a great idea? A way to connect neighbours and community members together? Could you use some guidance on how to get started? The Community Association is your one stop shop! We can help get you off on the right foot, support your ideas, provide space, link you in with funding opportunities and connect you to others in the community who can assist, guide or mentor.

We are always looking for new ideas for activities or events that community members would like to see – but more importantly, what we need is you! We need engaged community members who have great ideas and are willing to help put them into action. This is how some of our most popular activities and initiatives got started – Community Garden, Centennial Garden, book clubs, Stampede BBQ, family day party, playgroup, WHM Refugee Response and the rink to name just a few. One person, one idea that can change a community. Email event@winstonheights.ca or volunteer@winstonheights.ca for more information.
